Trust & Safety

Verified data. Protected files. Escrowed funds.

Buying or selling a business is a big decision. Here's how we keep it safe for both sides.

01How we verify listings

Subscriber counts and open rates come from a read-only connection to the seller's email platform where we support it (beehiiv and Kit today). On other platforms, sellers upload exports that our team reviews before a listing goes live.

Revenue is verified through a read-only Stripe connection or reviewed statements. Anything we haven't verified is labelled Seller-reported, so you know what to check in diligence.

02Identity checks

Sellers verify their identity and can link LinkedIn. Verification badges show on every profile, along with member-since dates and a median response time.

03NDAs and the data room

Sensitive documents and a listing's name stay locked until a buyer signs that seller's NDA. Signatures are recorded with a timestamp. Sellers can see who opened which files.

04We never hold your money

Purchase funds move through Escrow.com, a licensed escrow service. The buyer funds escrow, the seller transfers the assets, the buyer confirms, and only then are funds released. The deal room tracks every step.

05Reporting a problem

If something looks wrong, such as inflated metrics, a pushy contact, or a request to pay outside escrow, report it from the listing or message thread, or contact us directly. We review every report, and we remove listings and members who break our Code of Conduct.
